[image description: A poem written on a typewriter which reads:
“What good are bodies anyway?
Why couldn’t we arrange it, pray,
To do away with flesh and bone
And drift wherever we are blown,
Each in his simple soul alone?
What good are bodies anyway?”
This is a prosection of a young female Tegu I’m preparing for an Anatomy event I’m holding on Saturday. She lived at a nature center and was found dead in her bath.
A dissection is where YOU personally dig in.
A prosection is when an instructor goes in and prepares the dissection beforehand, so that it’s ready to demonstrate to students. In this case, I’m getting this tegu cleaned up, and the individual muscle groups separated out so we can examine and talk about their function on Saturday.
THE SATURDAY EVENT IS FULL: hopefully I’ll do another one in the next couple of weeks so more people can attend. The event is in Palo Alto Ca, if anyone is interested in attending.
Spent the afternoon working on a new skull carving on this raccoon. It is inspired by the Cathedral of Notre Dame. There’s still a ton more to be done so expect updates!
i’ll always be here to subtly remind you of the inevitability of death
well, not always
…the dead were dressed to seduce Death Himself.
