I am at a frustrating place in which I can spend a good three hours working on him with no discernible progress (which is entirely my fault… the pelvis was easy to wire + glue but I should have put the back legs together before I started putting everything up). But he is coming along beautifully.
He looks so great!! This has got to be one of my favorite articulations, the pose is so dynamic

Guess who came in the mail today? A javelina! @herboreal bought it for me after we returned from our trip to Tucson. We were just so smitten by the javelinas we saw there! This individual is pretty greasy, so when it gets warmer I might stick it in some Dawn for a while.
Javelinas aren’t very large! This one was a juvenile when it died (molars were still coming in), but it’s about standard size for a javelina skull. It’s so tiny compared to my domestic pig and Russian wild boar skulls!
should I set up a queue for this thing? I keep forgetting to go through my likes and reblog stuff here…
