cybergrimoire:

Some lovely c.ow bones I picked up today. Two adult skulls, and some misc bones and vertebrae, and one c.alf skull. All with jaw bones 🎉 before anyone asks, the two adults were slaughtered at the farm I work on (all that could be used out of the c.ow was, it didn’t go to waste and people gotta eat) the c.alf came from one that unfortunately died shortly after being born.

roachpatrol:

all that remains of a little wood thrush i found under a bridge last summer. i put it in a dirt pot wrapped in newspaper, and the newspaper totally melted away along with most of the ribs. the incredible smallness and delicacy of bird bones is always amazing to see: the skull is only about an inch long. the leg bones are as fine as toothpicks and the wings are even daintier… i’ll post a better photo of the bones later when the peroxide’s brightened them up.
