Happy Halloween!



It was the new vet’s (and the vet student’s) first ever seal necropsy today. I helped out and answered questions about what was normal etc for seals as I have experience of several myself now! We had a proper explore of all her insides. I wish I could have taken more photos but I had gloves on.
Also, omg, necropsies are messy!

In the photo where someone is showing off some white tissue, what is that?
Some foamy fluid in her lungs, its normal to have a little bit of froth but she had quite a lot, and it likely contributed to her death. She had a very nasty cough!
